About The Event
Silky soaring vocals, a pocketed rhythm section, and retro guitar riffs— all built to get toes tapping and hearts beating. Soul singer & songwriter Jill McCracken is headed out through the Northeastern US/Canada and Midwest with her band, on their second tour since the release of the debut album, Shake Me Up.
With an energetic live performance full of shakin’ hips and tambourine hits, McCracken strives to make people feel things— in a good way. Though her songs catch the ear as pop tunes, touching heavily on classic soul and Motown influences, a closer listen lets the audience know that these aren’t as simple as ABC, 123; there’s a conflict that lies just beneath the surface of the songs, as nodded to by McCracken’s sweet and savory lyrics. It’s a celebration of the honest-to-goodness truth of life and love— the beautiful parts, the horrible parts, and especially the in-betweens.
